CM Mohan Yadav Emotional: Tears In Eyes As MP CM Demolishes Ancestral House For Simhastha 2028

Preparations for the 2028 Simhastha Mahakumbh are in full swing in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Various roads are being widened to facilitate the movement of pilgrims. As part of this process, the ancestral home of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also had to be demolished. The administration had issued notices regarding 272 houses in the area, including the homes of the Chief Minister and his sister. On Sunday, Mohan Yadav visited his ancestral home and first offered prayers. Subsequently, he personally took up a pickaxe and began demolishing the front section of the house. Mohan Yadav gets emotional while his ancestral home is being demolished.

Recalling memories associated with his ancestral home, the Chief Minister remarked that it is certainly painful to see the demolition of the house where one grew up, played, and created so many life memories. However, if it is necessary for the Simhastha, we are willing to make this sacrifice. We are all doing this together. The entire nation is witnessing this—people are happily demolishing their own homes to ensure others do not face inconvenience. If this sacrifice is required for the Mahakumbh, then it must be made. 730-Meter Road to be Widened

Crores of devotees from across the country are expected to visit Ujjain during the Simhastha 2028 event. With this in mind, a stretch of road approximately 730 meters long—extending from Khajur Wali Masjid to Abdalpura and Ganesh Chowk—is being widened to 15 meters. The project is estimated to cost around ₹9.80 crore. The administration anticipates that widening the road will facilitate smoother movement for devotees during Simhastha.

Appreciation for Public Cooperation
The Chief Minister also commended the cooperation of the residents of Ujjain. He noted that people from various communities had cooperated by voluntarily setting back portions of their homes and religious structures to facilitate preparations for Simhastha. Mohan Yadav opined that it is necessary to rise above personal interests and make sacrifices for the greater public good. He cited the example of his own cooperation in the preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, where he personally wielded a pickaxe to demolish a portion of his ancestral home.

Following Prime Minister Modi’s Ideals

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that while leading a public life, one should always set examples that inspire future generations. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he noted that Modi always prioritizes good governance and administration, rising above personal interests; this conduct of his serves as an inspiration to us.
