Social activist Anna Hazare is ill. He was admitted to a major hospital in Mumbai on Monday due to a viral infection. He is being treated in the ICU. His condition is said to be stable now. According to reports, he had been unwell for the past few days. He had high fever, weakness, cough and dehydration. After the examination, the doctors considered his condition serious and immediately shifted him to the ICU.
Anna Hazare was brought to Mumbai by people who were watching him from his village in an ambulance and admitted to the hospital. He is being treated in the ICU under the supervision of Dr. Gautam Bhansali. According to the initial examination of the doctor, his condition had deteriorated due to a viral infection along with dehydration. Now his condition is said to be stable.
Let us tell you that Anna Hazare has been active in rural development, water conservation and against corruption for the past few decades. He transformed Ralegan Siddhi village in Maharashtra’s Ahalyanagar district from a drought-stricken and backward village into a model village. His model based on irrigation development, collective labour and social discipline became a topic of discussion across the country.
He gained national recognition in 2011 when he led the ‘India Against Corruption’ movement. The movement, which began with the demand for the ‘Jan Lokpal Act’, spread to many cities in the country and played a major role in changing the direction of anti-corruption politics. Even before this, he had been protesting against corruption and government irregularities in Maharashtra for a long time.
It is worth mentioning that last month, Anna met the trainee officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS). During this, he said that the future of India depends on the youth. According to him, honesty, discipline and selfless service are the most important qualities for nation building. Around 20 IPS trainees from different states had arrived in Ralegand Siddhi towards the end of July. The officers, who are undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad, had come to study the village’s water development and rural transformation model.
