Big Relief for Vehicle Owners: Govt Reduces PUCC Fine Amount

Big relief for vehicle owners and drivers. State government reduces PUCC fine. The government has now reduced the fine of Rs 10,000 imposed for violating pollution rules since 2019. While it was Rs 10,000 during the previous government, it has now been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 6,000. However, if the e-challan is more than 90 days late, PUCC will not be applicable, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena has announced.

According to the new rules-

  • Motorcycle: 1000 for first violation, 2000 for second violation
  • Three-wheeler (passenger/cargo transport): 1000 for first violation, 2000 for second violation
  • Motor cab: 2000 for first violation, 5000 for second violation
  • Motor car, jeep: 2000 for first violation, 5000 for second violation
  • Tractor, trailer: 2000 for first violation, 5000 for second violation
  • Other vehicles: 3000 for first violation, 6000 for second violation
  • PUCC cannot be done if e-challan is more than 90 days past due
