Odisha SIR Mega Success: Over 71 Lakh Voters Get Forms by Day 5 of Special Intensive Revision!

The ‘Special Intensive Revision Programme’ (SIR) launched by the Chief Electoral Officer’s office to make the electoral roll more clean, correct and error-free in the state has successfully entered its fifth day. After the huge success of the last four days, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the voters in every nook and corner of the state for this campaign.

According to the information received from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, till 6 pm today (Wednesday), a total of 71 lakh 69 thousand 563 voters in the state have been successfully distributed the enumeration forms.

To make this special campaign a hundred percent success, 45,255 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been deployed across the state. The BLOs are continuing the work of distributing the enumeration forms and collecting data by visiting every house in urban and rural areas, including tribal-dominated and remote areas.

During the house-to-house enumeration, each voter is provided with two copies of the pre-printed enumeration form (Annexure-III). After the voters fill the form, the BLO keeps one copy with him and returns the second copy to the voter as a receipt or acknowledgement letter after signing it. The voters have been asked to retain this acknowledgement letter for future reference.

The administration has clarified that no additional documents are being collected from the voters to facilitate the enumeration process. Apart from this, voters can also download the form from the official website of the Election Commission (voters.eci.gov.in), fill in the details and upload it themselves.

33,026 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by various political parties are also fully supporting the BLOs at the field level to ensure a coordinated and clean campaign. All necessary steps have been taken by the Election Department and the District Administration to ensure that no eligible voter in the state is left out of the process.
