Buffalo Electrocuted to Death Due to Dangling High-Voltage Wire

The incident of a buffalo dying after coming into contact with an electric transformer near Barang village under Patrapur block has become a topic of discussion in the local area. The deceased buffalo has been identified as Duba Narsaya of Vejipadar village under Kesharipada panchayat of Patrapur block. According to information, Duba Narsaya had come to graze his buffalo near Barang village on Sunday morning. The horn of a buffalo got caught on the safety wire attached to the pole of an electric transformer near Barang village. As a result, the buffalo died on the spot.

The locals reached the spot and informed the electricity department and expressed their anger, blaming the negligence of the electricity department. According to the villagers, despite repeated complaints about the electric wire hanging near the Barang transformer for a long time and the unsafe power system, the TPSODL did not take any action. As a result, a harmless animal lost its life today, they said. Since the cattle herder belongs to a very poor class, the locals have demanded compensation and immediate repair of the dangerous electricity system in the area. On the other hand, the Patrapur department has reportedly reached the spot and given a written order to make the necessary repairs within seven days.
