OTET Exam Concludes Peacefully In Malkangiri; 1437 Candidates Appear Across 9 Centres

The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET)-2026 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (Board) was held in four centers today. The Paper-1 exam began from 9 am and continued till 11:30 pm, while the Paper-2 exam continued from 2 pm to 4:30 pm, according to the District Education Officer’s office.

According to District Education Officer Chittaranjan Panigrahi, 400 candidates appeared for the first paper and 1037 candidates appeared for the second paper, so a total of 1437 candidates appeared for the exam, while 165 candidates were absent.

Due to power outages due to rain, the district administration made arrangements for gensets, drinking water, police deployment for security, etc., due to which the exam was held in a safe environment. To prevent irregularities in the exam, the board authorities have made arrangements for CCTV surveillance of each candidate along with internal and external invigilators, and mobile phones etc. were banned inside the exam center. The District Education Officer has thanked everyone for the smooth conduct of the examination.
