In Dialkhandi village under Rasulpur block of Jajpur district, villagers held a press conference on Sunday to express their reaction to the allegations that some poor people are opposing the construction of a wall around the Anganwadi center. In this conference, the villagers said that the safety of about 25 children is at risk as there is no wall around the already constructed Anganwadi center. In view of this, the government approved funds for the construction of the wall and the work began. However, the work has been hampered as some poor people of the village have stopped the work and threatened not to build it.
In this regard, the villagers, including the sarpanch, have filed a written complaint at the Kuakhia police station, but they have expressed dissatisfaction over the police not taking any action so far.
In the press conference, the villagers have demanded that the administration immediately intervene and ensure the smooth completion of the Anganwadi wall construction work and take legal action against those obstructing the incident.
