Farmers in Malkangiri district are facing a big problem. While purchasing seeds through government-run LAMPS, farmers are being forced to pay only cash, after which they are getting seeds. Even if farmers who do not have cash want to pay through PhonePe or digitally, LAMPS employees do not accept it. When asked the reason for this, they very ridiculously say, “Our bank does not have an account for this payment.” This directly indicates a big corruption.
Where the government is emphasizing digitalization in all fields, such comments by LAMPS employees raise questions about the administrative system. If there is no financial relationship between the banks that provide loans to farmers and the LMPs, then how is the capital transaction taking place there, which has raised questions in everyone’s mind? So, according to some farmers, this clearly indicates that a planned conspiracy is going on to exploit the farmers. Even though the farmers are ready to give their hard-earned money, there is a large-scale financial irregularity behind their insistence on cash only, the farmers have said. The farmers have asked why the district administration is silent on this important issue so far? Will the suffering of the farmers never end?
So, the farmers have strongly demanded that a high-level investigation be conducted immediately.
