The 10th National Conference of Sangam Jnan Prakash, the confluence of education, literature and culture, was held in Puri. On this occasion, Mrs. Jyotirmayi Samal, the daughter of Paralakhemundi and a versatile talent, was felicitated for her outstanding contribution to social service and the field of art. She had a significant contribution to the art field of Paralakhemundi during her student life. She is a talented dancer and actress. She was the lead heroine of the drama Meghdoot aired on Doordarshan. Currently, she is based in Balasore and is providing free dance lessons to students.
Under her dance direction, her students have been performing dances at state-level cultural programs like Chandipur Beach Festival and Balasore Festival and have been receiving praise. Along with this, she has been distributing food to the victims during the Corona period, planting trees, judging various cultural programs and doing various social service works. She is the niece of Shri Anadi Charan Panigrahi, a prominent personality of Paralakhemundi, and Smt. Ashalata Panigrahi, a retired teacher who received the President’s Award. Dr. Kalyani Mishra, Smt.
