Although the flood water in the Brahmani river is below the danger mark, various areas are now submerged. People in the affected areas have been particularly affected and their annual income has been lost. A 200-foot ravine has been created in the Brahmani river near Banksahi in Kumbiriyapal panchayat of Bari constituency. As a result, flood water has entered the houses of the people of the local area, and their annual income has been lost.
People in the local area, including Banksahi, cultivate hectares of land and feed their families throughout the year. They used to grow paddy and vegetables in the fields, depending on agriculture. As the flood water overflowed the farmland, stones from the river embankment and various roads have accumulated in the fields, and even now 5 feet of water has accumulated in the fields. Since there is no system for draining the flood water, paddy and vegetable farming is likely to be completely lost here. Which is now a matter of concern for the farmers. However, the government has not made any assessment of the damage. Leading farmers of the region, including Devendra Swain, Bharat Chandra Swain, Parshuram Swain, Bhagwan Sahu, Arjun Raut, Kalandi Sahu, Padan Sahu, Dhruv Swain and Madan Bahalia, have made major demands for an immediate assessment of the damage and provision of government assistance.
