Malkangiri Women’s Higher Secondary School’s student Pratibha Rani Nayak has been felicitated by the administration in the combined two arts examination. Malkangiri Women’s Higher Secondary School’s student Pratibha Rani Nayak has topped the school by securing 509 marks in the combined two arts examination conducted by the Higher Secondary Education Council this year.
On this occasion, Additional District Collector and Higher Secondary School Management Committee President Somnath Pradhan felicitated the student Pratibha Rani Nayak with a bouquet of flowers at the District Collector’s office. Women’s Higher Secondary School’s President Dushmant Kumar Jena, senior journalist and former Sahitya Academy member Ratnakar Dash, professor Sunadhar Pujari, Miyanjay Satapathy and other school staff were present in the felicitation program. Other school staff were present and wished Pratibha Rani Nayak a bright future. In a remote tribal-dominated district like Malkangiri, the only “Women’s Higher Secondary School, Malkangiri” in the district is playing an important role in promoting female education. Due to the school’s advanced teaching methods, disciplined environment, accommodation facilities and transportation facilities, most of the students of the district rely on this women’s school for higher education.
Keeping in mind the long-standing demands of the parents and students, the number of seats in the school has increased to 416 last year. Keeping in mind the demands of the new generation, there is also a strong demand to open new subjects in the coming days. This year, the school has achieved remarkable success in the Plus Two annual examination conducted by the Higher Secondary Education Council. Out of a total of 350 students who appeared for the examination, 334 passed, recording a success rate of 95.42%. 97 passed in first division, 115 in second division and 122 in third division. Pratibha Rani Nayak has become the highest scorer of the school by securing 509 marks in this examination. There is a wave of happiness in the students and parents regarding this success. The school chairman, Dushmant Kumar Jena, has congratulated and thanked all the successful students, teachers and non-teaching staff.
On this occasion, there is a strong demand from the public to nationalize the only women’s higher secondary school in the district and take it over to the government. It has been expressed that this institution has become an inspiration in the development of women’s education and leading girls from rural areas on the path of higher education.
