An organizational meeting of the Dandra Chak Sixty House Dumal Society under Muribahal Block of Balangir District was held in Indagaon, Chhattisgarh State. After all the workers of Dandra Chak arrived there, the worship of Mother was done at Maheshwari Peeth. After welcoming all the workers who had gone to Dandra Chak with flowers and sandalwood, the meeting started. The meeting was presided over by the Chak President Bhopal Chandra Mahakur. In his speech, he said that the boundaries of Dandra Chak are between two states, two languages, three districts, and five blocks.
However, due to the good brotherhood, unity, goodwill, and cooperative attitude among us, we have earned a reputation at the district level. Chak Editor Fakir Mohan Khamari said that our chak has been awarded the best chak award from other chaks due to its outstanding work in the fields of various chak programs: ‘Survey work,’ ‘One village one pangat,’ ‘Go to the village,’ ‘Find problems,’ and ‘Women’s power – traditional culture.’ Maa Maheshwari Pumanch President Amulya Kumar Mahakur explained about the work of Pumanch, blood donation, drug addiction, and the role of young brothers in social service. While the organizers Hemsagar Bastia and Malik Mahakur shed light on the goals and structure of the organization, senior member Hridananda Karmi Indagaon expressed that even though his brothers and sisters were in other states, Dandra Chak has always stood by their happiness and sorrow, and other workers also gave their speeches.
A new village committee was formed there. In this, Dhanpat Danta was elected as the president; Editor Sakk Bastia, Treasurer Lokhulal Bastia, Vice President Mansingh Bastia, Co-Editor Dinesh Danta, and Advisors Bota Danta, Jagat Padhan, Paramananda Patra, and Maheswari Pumanch; and organizers Suresh Danta and Babru Danta were unanimously elected and took an oath before the mother.
Other workers who joined the meeting from Odisha included the treasurer of the 60-house Dumal Society, Umakant Khamari; Maheswari Pumanch Vice President Anant Baghar; Co-Editor Nimayn Patra; Sarat Amat; Ramesh Padhan; Manabhanjan Mahakur; Nakula Gadua; Kabiraj Khamari; Baikuntha Padhan; Chandrashekhar Danta; Badrinarayan Karmi; Pappu Danta; Satan Gejo; and Anant Karan, who were prominent participants. This was the first organizational meeting of the Dumal caste in Indagaon, so all the individuals and women of the Dumal society in the village were very excited. Later in the evening, the village committee workers went door to door to introduce the workers who had gone from Odisha. Finally, the village committee secretary, Akhil Bastia, thanked everyone.
