Nuapada, 26/05: As the district administration continues its strict checks to prevent illegal transportation of paddy in Nuapada district, a total of 172.74 quintals of paddy have been seized in two separate incidents.
In the first incident, vehicle number CG 10 BM 0181 was stopped on NH-353 at the interstate Chhattisgarh border during regular patrolling. 122.54 quintals of paddy in 410 bags were seized from the driver of the said vehicle, Shantu Patel. ACSO Hrishikesh Nayak and Supply Inspector Subhasree Dash were present during the raid.
In the second incident, vehicle number OD26 D1694 was stopped by the District Enforcement Squad in the Bargaon area of the Sinapali block. 50.20 quintals of paddy in 125 bags were seized from the driver of the vehicle, B.S.K. Bainu. Supply Inspectors Devendra Sethia (Sinapali), Alok Patra (Boden), and Soumya Ranjan Mahanand (Khariar) were present during the inspection.
The district administration has informed that strict action will continue against illegal transportation of paddy in the coming days.
