On the second day of the two-day visit of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti and Tourism, Smt. Parvathi Parida, a comprehensive review and discussion meeting was held with Anganwadi workers, helpers and supervisors. In this meeting, the workers working at the field level presented their problems, demands and suggestions directly before the Deputy Chief Minister.
The meeting was attended by Dharmagarh MLA Shri Sudhir Ranjan Pattayoshi, Additional Secretary, Women and Child Development Department Anant Narayan Singh Laguri, Additional District Collector (General) Tanmay Kumar Darwan, CDIO-cum-EO District Council Soumya Ranjan Pradhan, Deputy District Collector Preksha Agarwal, District Social Welfare Officer Mujibun Nisha and many other senior officials.
During the discussion, the Anganwadi workers raised various issues like supply problems due to increased egg prices, increase in honorarium, one-time payment of ₹10,000 incentive amount instead of two installments, problems related to contingency expenses, mobile phone facility and inclusion of all eligible beneficiaries in Subhadra Yojana. They also apprised the Deputy Chief Minister about the practical problems they are facing while working at the field level.
Deputy Chief Minister Parvathy Parida listened patiently to everyone and said that Anganwadi workers are the backbone of the government’s women and child welfare programmes. She assured that the government will take positive steps towards resolving their problems. She also directed the district administration to consider all the demands on priority and take necessary action in a timely manner.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of government schemes, nutrition programmes, progress of Subhadra Yojana and women empowerment. Emphasis was also placed on coordination between the administration and field level workers to more effectively implement schemes related to women and child development in the district.
