On the occasion of the distribution of the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, the district-level PM-KISAN Utsav Day was celebrated at the District Panchayat Resource Center, Silda today. On this occasion, the farmers of Nuapada district were connected to the main program organized from Tarkeswar in Hooghly district of West Bengal through virtual means.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly transferred more than Rs. 18,880 crore to the bank accounts of more than 9.44 crore eligible farmers of the country. Similarly, Rs. 693 crore has been transferred to the accounts of more than 34.6 lakh farmer brothers and sisters of Odisha.
The 23rd installment of PM-KISAN has been directly deposited in the bank accounts of a total of 85,061 farmers in Nuapada district. Block-wise, 13,694 farmers of Boden block, 15,879 farmers of Khariar block, 20,231 farmers of Komna block, 14,962 farmers of Nuapada block and 20,295 farmers of Sinapali block have benefited from this installment. The district-level program was attended by the Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer of the District Council, Lambadar Dharua, Representative of the Member of Parliament, Prem Agarwal, Senior Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dr.
Lav Soren and District Chief Agriculture Officer Pranati Rani Pradhan. They expressed their opinion that the PM-KISAN Yojana has proved to be a milestone in the field of economic empowerment of farmers and agricultural development. A large number of farmers, public representatives, officers and employees of the Agriculture Department, along with media representatives, were present at the program.
