Today, I attended the state-level ‘PM Kisan Utsav Diwas’ organized at Mahatab Bhawan in Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj. On this occasion, the legendary Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi directly transferred more than ₹18,880 crore to the accounts of 9.44 crore farmers of the country through the 23rd installment of the ‘PM-KISAN’ scheme. In this, an assistance amount of Rs. 693 crore has been provided to more than 34.6 lakh farmer brothers and sisters of Odisha. This is an important step for the welfare of farmers. Shri Krishna Chandra Mohapatra, Honorable Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Government of Odisha, was also present along with me.
Agriculture is the backbone of our economy and our farmer brothers and sisters are our breadwinners. This effort of the Prime Minister will not only strengthen the hands of farmers, but will also help them a lot in purchasing seeds, fertilizers and other essential items in the upcoming farming season.
The Central and State Governments have always been committed to the overall development of farmers and doubling their income. In this context, I express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji on behalf of the entire farmer community of Odisha.
