Discontent has been expressed in the local area over the lack of basic amenities in the Gadagadbahal village panchayat under Muribahal block of Balangir district. The people coming for various work are facing problems due to the lack of drinking water facilities in this panchayat office established in 2017.
According to the complaint, there was a water tank in the panchayat premises, but it is in a dilapidated condition. Although a toilet has been built, it is locked due to lack of water supply. As a result, people coming to the panchayat are facing problems in drinking water and using the toilet.
According to the locals, the lawlessness is increasing day by day as the sarpanch and employees of the panchayat are not paying attention to this problem. The common people have demanded that drinking water facilities be made available in the panchayat premises soon and a clean environment be maintained.
When asked about this, Sarpanch Karishma Suna admitted to the water problem. “We have opened a 400-foot borewell three times, but it has not been successful. We have informed the PD and BDO about the water problem,” he said. “The Panchayat office premises will be cleaned. Efforts will be made to find alternative water supply arrangements,” the Sarpanch said.
