The 11th, the paddy purchase and sale process in Bargarh district has been completed for a month. However, the problem of paddy purchase and sale does not bear the name of improvement. As a result, farmer dissatisfaction has increased. The government has set a target to collect Rabi paddy by the end of June. And after 15 days, the Rabi paddy collection will be completed. However, while some farmers have not received their tokens from their deposits, many farmers have not received their second and third tokens. Farmers who received less tokens according to the size of their land have not received the remaining tokens. In this regard, a demand letter was submitted to the District Collector on the 1st at the Atabira Block Office on behalf of the Odisha State Farmers’ Organization to pay all the tokens of the farmers. During the week of the announcement, all the farmers had written complaints in the relevant packs. However, while some of the tokens of some farmers have received some tokens, the names of many farmers have not been identified till date.
It was decided in a meeting of the organization at the Bazaar Mantukta in Jachhabhaga on Saturday that the road strike will be held on Tuesday at any place. However, on the instructions of Bargarh District Magistrate Aditya Goyal, a tripartite meeting was held on Monday night at 7:30 pm between the district administration officers, farmers and public representatives before the road strike. After much discussion and discussion, Bargarh DRC couple Kishore Dash assured that the surplus tokens of the farmers would be paid by the 20th of the next month, and the proposed road strike movement has been postponed until the 22nd of the next month, informed the President of the Odisha State Farmers Organization, Bhuwan Pradhan.
It is worth mentioning here that although 45 percent of the paddy has been collected so far, the tokens of many farmers have not arrived. In the current Rabi crop, many farmers have received less tokens than the registered land area. On the advice of the district administration, a written complaint was given in Atabira on the 1st of last month in the Joint Public Grievance Hearing of the District Magistrate, but till today, all the tokens have not come. The target is being reduced in the markets. The weather department has already given advance warning that the monsoon will arrive in another 4/5 days. Farmers have kept paddy in the market in the hope of receiving tokens.
In such a situation, the farmers are complaining that how will they sell their paddy if the tokens do not come. The farmers complained that the administration is repeatedly harassing the farmers. If the government does not listen to the just demands of the farmers, the organization has decided that they will block the roads at any moment on Saturday, the 22nd and no further reminders will be issued in this regard. The meeting was attended by President Bhuvan Pradhan, Editor Narendra Pradhan, Birendra Kar, Buddhadeb Nanda, Manoranjan Sahu, Ashwini Tripathi, S Bhoi, Harendra Swain, Devendra Sahu, Suresh Karn, Sameer Pradhan, Rajesh Pradhan, Gurudev Bhoi, B Paparao, Sankranti Venkateswara Rao, V Krishna Murthy, Dasharath Bhoi, M Satya Prakash, J Surya Prakash, K Ram Babu and prominent farmers.
