Today, a high-level administrative team led by Malkangiri District Magistrate Pratesh Arvind Rajeshirke visited various areas of Kalimela block and reviewed the local development work. During this visit, the District Magistrate was accompanied by District Security Superintendent Vinod Patil H, Chief Development Officer Dasharthi Sarbu, Superintendent Engineer of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department and Kalimela Block Development Officer.
All the officials first visited the Pragati Pathway Malkangiri Youth Center in Telrai village. This special center has been set up by the district administration to develop the skills of the youth, their leadership abilities and to make them self-reliant. Here, gym equipment, sports equipment and various books along with daily newspapers have been arranged for the health of the youth and knowledge acquisition. Since these centers play an important role in bringing about positive changes among the rural youth, it has also been nominated for the national level Scotch Award.
Along with this, the District Collector visited the activities of the black rice processing center run by the Maa Dharitri Self-Help Group (SHG). The District Collector and the present officers discussed their business and facilities with the SHG mothers. The District Collector highly appreciated the dedicated work of the women and their efforts to become self-reliant and encouraged them to move forward. This step of the district administration has been highly appreciated by the local women.
After this, the District Collector and the divisional officers inspected the progress of various construction works being carried out by the Rural Development Department. They especially inspected the status of the Telrai-MV 77 road and bridge work, including the Sudhakhunta to Machhaghat bridge work. The District Collector has strictly instructed the divisional officers and engineers present there to keep a close watch on the quality of the work and complete all the work within the stipulated time frame for the convenience of the public.
