Nuapada District Khadial Notified Area Council Chairman Ujjal Gupta and Vice Chairman Shakuntala Raut along with seven other ward councilors have joined the BJP at the state BJP office. They have joined in the presence of State President Manmohan Samal and Deputy Chief Minister Kanvardhan Singh Deo and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Kalahandi MP Malvika Devi and Nuapada District President Kamlesh Dixit at the state office. They said that this joining will accelerate the development trend in the area and will also accelerate the development trend in Khadial constituency.
Khadial Road Chairperson Dr. Sonia Jain, Khadial Raja Shri Deb Dev Singh Deo and District Secretary General Ajit Chalan, Tulas Patel, District Youth Morcha President Jyan Kumar Megh and all the Mandal Presidents of Khadial Assembly were present at the merger party. In the last election, the Chairperson was elected on a Congress party ticket, and since he changed parties with eight out of a total of 13 councilors, political experts have said that there is no possibility of his membership being cancelled due to the party restriction law. Moreover, since he is a close follower of Khadial MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi, three BJD councilors have joined the BJP along with the Chairperson, and in his response, there is no possibility of loss for the BJD.
