The long wait is over. After many days of demands and anticipation, starting Monday, with the joint support of the State Government’s Transport Department, Puri District Regional Transport, Shri Mandir Administration, and Puri District Collector, two Jagannath Bus Route No. 57/1 and 2 have started passenger service from today. The first bus will leave Puri at 7:30 AM and reach Astarang at 9:35 AM.
The second bus will leave Puri at 9:45 AM and reach Puri at 11:50 AM. In the second sitting, this bus will leave Puri at 1:35 PM and reach Astarang at 3:40 PM. The second bus will leave at 3:50 PM and reach Puri at 5:55 PM. The second route, i.e., the 57/2 bus, will travel with a delay of 1 hour during this time. Many days after fulfilling the demand of the Jagannath Bus Service, this air-conditioned battery bus will provide direct service to the people from Ashtrang to Shrikshetra. Today, this Jagannath bus service was inaugurated at Jagulei Ground.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Jagatsinghpur MP, Ashtrang Block Representative, Dibakar Chhatoi, as the chief guest, while Ashtrang Sarpanch Ramachandra Kandi, President of the Multipurpose Charitable Trust Susanta Parida, Editor Biswajit Biswal, Puri District Project Head of Depot Utkal Samal, and other employees were present. The guests present expressed their gratitude to the staff of the trust that this work has been done on the demand of the Multipurpose Charitable Trust. They also thanked the state government, Puri District Collector, District Regional Transport Officer Sasmita Behera, and Sri Mandir Administration.
