Congress Demands Relocation of Liquor Shop, Submits Memo to Collector

The District Congress Committee has demanded the relocation of the liquor shop located near the District Head Hospital and on the Sukuma Bypass Road. In this regard, the party has submitted a demand letter to the District Collector. In the demand letter, the Congress has mentioned that the relatives of the patients and the public are facing various problems due to the presence of a liquor shop near the District Head Hospital. Drunkards are visiting the hospital premises at various times and misbehaving with doctors and healthcare workers.

As a result, healthcare services are being hampered and the hospital environment is being affected. Since this liquor shop is located on the national highway, accidents have occurred at various times and the livelihood of the people is also being destroyed. Similarly, there is another liquor shop near the bypass road connecting Sukuma, which is hampering traffic. There is a risk of accidents at various times. There are slums, a canal and a canal in that area. People who drink alcohol throw bottles into the canal, causing injuries to people coming to bathe.

Recently, after a new tender process, plans have been made to reopen liquor shops in those places. Which has been opposed by the party. It has been demanded that liquor shops be set up in appropriate places away from public housing, educational institutions and hospitals. The District Congress Committee has warned that the agitation will be intensified in the coming days if the demands are not met. During the submission of the demand, many party workers including District Congress Committee President G. Srinivas Rao, Keshu Rao, Krishnachandra Angu, Pranakrishna Mandal, Saroj Patra, Dasharatha Duruka were present.
