A protest and signature campaign was held at Gandhi Chack in Bargarh on Monday to protest the forcible suppression of the indefinite hunger strike of social worker, educationist and scientist Sonam Wangchuk. Conscious citizens of Bargarh and members of various organizations joined the protest and demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. After the police forcibly removed Sonam, there is an outpouring of support from all over the country, and enthusiasm has been seen in Bargarh too.
More than two hundred people have expressed their support by signing their signatures in this signature campaign. For the past one month, Sonam and her colleagues have been on a hunger strike at the Yantra Mantra in Delhi, due to which the BJP government has tried to sabotage the movement by forcibly removing Sonam, said Bhavani Sahu. The entire country has been outraged by the recent NEET exam paper leak, so the student movement may take a frightening form in the future, said Sushant Sahu.
