The mud house of Sanjana Kumbar of Antrala village, Ichchapada Panchayat, Muribahal block, Balangir district, has collapsed due to heavy rain. Sanjana’s family has now taken shelter in someone else’s house as the house collapsed due to the rain. According to Sanjana, her name was included in the first phase of the housing scheme but was excluded from the list in the second phase.
“While many rich people are getting the housing scheme, poor families like us are being deprived. This is unfortunate for us,” she complained. After receiving the news, Ichchapada Revenue Inspector Sunil Kumar Nayak reached the spot, conducted a preliminary investigation and provided polythene to the family. As the mud houses of the people in the area are collapsing, there is a demand for immediate assistance from the administration. Sanjana has appealed to the administration to provide a pucca house under the immediate housing scheme.
