Astarang Block Manduki Panchayat Olara Village Road has been completed after a long time, but after 5 months, the repair work has been completed, but when it rains, the road is knee-deep in water. The villagers are facing a situation where there is no water. Not only the villagers, but the students of the nearby school and anganwadi are facing many problems. When it rains, water stagnates in open areas for about 40 to 50 meters on the road, which has created an artificial flood, not a sewer.
Manduki Panchayat Olara Village’s Bhagwat House to Olara Primary School, which has been repaired for 4 to 5 months, but water is stagnant. This road is under the Rural Development Department. The villagers have complained that the contractor did arbitrarily work during the road work. He left a 40 to 50 meter stretch of road in between the school and the villagers were angry.
He promised to complete the road work. But, they left a gap in the middle and left the two sides high, leaving no way for rainwater drainage. The question arises as to why this was done, which is completely unclear. But now the villagers, school students, and anganwadi students are suffering due to this work. While no opinion has been received from the departmental officials in this regard, the villagers have a claim. Even after informing the Rural Development Department several times, the department is not taking any action. The villagers have warned that they will stage a protest in the coming days if the administrative level is not resolved immediately.
