Paralakhemundi: A unique and commendable step has been taken by the Gajapati district administration to bring smiles to the faces of the neglected and orphaned children of the society before the arrival of Raja Parva. A “Raj Bazaar” was organized in the city with 55 orphaned children living in Utkal Balashram and they were included in the joy of the festival. These children, studying from class 1 to 10, had the opportunity to visit various bazaars and established shopping malls in the city and buy new clothes, daily necessities and essential items as per their choice.
The experience of choosing and buying items as per their wishes was a unique experience for the children. Not only that, these children also got the opportunity to visit the bazaar and eat their favorite food from various shops. This event doubled the excitement and joy of Raja Parva in their minds and the children expressed their happiness. The main objective of this program organized by the Gajapati District Magistrate is that these orphaned children, deprived of the love of their parents and family, should not feel helpless or neglected in any way. On the occasion of various festivals and national days, the administration is trying to fill the lives of children with happiness through such programs. District Industrial Promotion Officer Akrosh Pradhan has supported this important effort and has borne all the expenses from his monthly salary. This example of humanity and social responsibility has been widely appreciated in various quarters of the district.
