Lakhs of devotees and devotees are likely to visit Puri during the current Rath Yatra. Keeping this in mind, the Hon’ble Chief Minister has laid emphasis on providing a pleasant experience to everyone by making the traffic smooth and organized. In this context, the Minister of Law, Works and Excise, Shri Prithviraj Harichandan, has also directed the departmental officers for its successful implementation.
Matiapada ARO plays a major role in the entry and exit of Puri city. Therefore, in order to complete the construction work of Matiapada ARO before the current Rath Yatra and make it convenient for the public, the Divisional Principal Secretary, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, is regularly visiting Puri and reviewing the progress and status of the work.
In this regard, the Secretary, Shri Singh, visited Matiapada yesterday, inspected the construction site and discussed with the officers in charge. While the launching of the bow-sting girder has been successfully completed, Secretary Shri Singh has directed to complete the deck slab casting work on the bow-sting girder at the earliest. He also emphasized on the launching of the remaining span of one PSC girder and the deck slab casting to be completed at the earliest.
Before the Rath Yatra, Principal Secretary Shri Singh has directed the senior officers and the construction company to complete the construction work of the ARB service road and make it suitable for traffic and to remove construction materials and garbage to make the ARB site clean, safe and orderly. The Chief Engineer (National Highways), Superintending Engineer (NH Division) and the officers in charge of the construction were present during the visit.
