A strange and surprising incident has come to light during the Kota Municipal Corporation elections. In the voter list of Ward No. 29, a voter’s name has been found with a photo of Lord Hanuman in front of his own photo. After this case came to light, while the concerned voter is being searched, a lot of questions have been raised about the electoral process. This incident is under Ward No. 12 of Ward 29. The name of 35-year-old Yagdish Patra-Ramachandra is registered at number 1294 of the voter list. His address is Prem Nagar Second, Kansua Kshetra, House No. 6. But instead of the real photo of Yagdish, there is a photo of Hanumanji in the place where the photo should be.
According to information, the local BLO has been searching for Yagdish for the last 10 days, but so far no trace of him has been found. No mobile number has been registered in the voter list. In such a situation, the question arises that how did the voter card of the person concerned come about and how did another photo appear instead of his photo? According to him, this name was added to the list after SIR. Some applications also came directly to the office. The Returning Officer has been informed about this entire matter.
BJP candidate from Ward 29, Badri Arya, said that he came to know about this incident through the workers. He expressed the possibility that the person concerned may have been a real voter and there may have been a mistake while uploading the photo. Currently, the investigation and search for the voter is going on at the administrative level. This incident has raised great doubts about the preparation of the voter list. Finally, where this mistake of changing the photo happened and who is responsible for it will be clear only after the investigation. The BLO said that during the 2018 assembly elections, a case of a picture of a cupboard in place of a voter’s photo came to light, which was later corrected.
