Water Project Construction Woes: Muddy Roads Leave Budhipadar Villagers Helpless in Rains

The villagers are facing immense hardship due to the slow progress of the rural water supply project in the village of Budhipada under Goimund Panchayat of Muribahal Block, Balangir District. The work of the project started in 2024, but even after a long time, the work has not been completed. While deep holes were dug in the concrete road of the village for house-to-house pipe connection, the villagers are facing extreme difficulties as they have not been concreted again. On rainy days, the holes are filled with water and mud, making it very difficult to travel on the road. Especially school students, elderly people and women are facing problems every day, the villagers have complained.

The villagers have complained to the contractor several times in this regard, but no action has been taken except for the promise to expedite the concrete work. As a result, there has been a sharp dissatisfaction among the villagers with the work of the Rural Water Supply Department. The villagers have demanded from the administration and the concerned department to immediately complete the incomplete work and restore normal traffic flow by concreting the excavated roads as before.
