The film ‘Diesel’, directed by Arun Matheswaran, was released last August. Following its release, the movie received a positive response from both audiences and critics. Popular filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj made his acting debut with this film, starring alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. The movie reportedly grossed over ₹100 crore at the global box office.
Following the film’s success, Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures gifted high-value BMW cars to members of the team. A video of this gesture was also shared on Sun Pictures’ social media handles. In the video, Kalanithi Maran is seen gifting BMW cars to director Arun Matheswaran, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and music director Anirudh Ravichander.
However, Wamiqa Gabbi’s fans are disappointed by this gesture, as the film’s lead actress, Wamiqa, does not appear in the video. Audiences had highly appreciated Wamiqa’s performance in the role of a sex worker named Chandra. Fans believe that her contribution to the film’s success was significant. Consequently, social media users are questioning why the lead actress was overlooked while male artists and other team members were gifted BMW cars to celebrate the film’s success. Many fans are now expressing their support for Wamiqa on social media regarding this matter. However, neither the producers nor the film team has provided any clarification as to why Wamiqa was not gifted a BMW.
