The campaign against single-use plastic (SUP) is continuing vigorously in Nuapada district under the direct supervision of District Magistrate Madhusudan Dash. In this context, a regular inspection was conducted by the Swachhta Team in the Khariyar Road area today.
During the inspection, the “Gupta Tea Stall” near Khariyar Road Railway Station did not cooperate in the inspection. Keeping in view the importance of the incident, the said shop has been sealed on the instructions of Deputy Collector and SDM, Nuapada Surmi Soren.
District Council Additional Executive Officer Matapandhi Bhoi, Khariyar NAC Executive Officer Kamalasen Rath, Watershed Project Director Rashmi Ranjan Patra, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan District Coordinator Anil Kumar Lenka, police personnel and other officials were present in the campaign.
The district administration has appealed to the general public and businessmen to refrain from using single-use plastics and cooperate in the cleanliness campaign.
