A complaint of abduction was filed at the Dhenkanal Sub-District Collector’s office. The village is home to about a thousand people. Earlier, people used to dig a well in the Lingara River to use water. Sadly, the dust and smoke from the Tata company have made it unfit for drinking. There is also a shortage of drinking water from the tube wells in the village. As a result, the women of Kankalu village are going to bring water to Sarpa village by jumping over a two-kilometer bridge.
The residents of Kankalu village are expressing their grief. Even after fifty percent of the land in Kankalu village was given, the Tata company is not listening to the residents of Kankalu village. After 77 years of independence, the residents of Kankalu village are not getting clean drinking water. Despite repeated complaints from the villagers, nothing has been done. The Tata company came to the village and gave a written promise to provide water to every household, but no results have been achieved to date. Therefore, the villagers are facing a problem. On Wednesday, 10.06.2026, Tata Company has warned the administration that it will present its idea in front of it. It has been said that it will strongly protest against the administration or Tata Company in the coming days.
