At home, his wife Bipula Mandal is bedridden due to paralysis. Meanwhile, the husband Kisan Mandal is struggling to survive at the age of 82. The elderly couple has one son and three daughters, while the three daughters are married and living elsewhere. It is known that the son does not ask his father and mother. Therefore, the elderly couple are living in a small house with great difficulty. While they are struggling to survive in their old age, two grandchildren have come to live at home. Therefore, Kisan is seen selling tea in front of the bus stand.
It is easy to imagine how the family can function when they do not earn even a hundred rupees a day from selling tea. Kisan Mandal said that he is unable to stand properly due to his advanced age and it is also difficult to walk. Kisan expressed his sorrow that he is having a hard time taking care of his sick wife at home and selling tea at the fair. Sometimes his daughters come to help. On the other hand, even after reaching 80 years of age, the farmer is not getting Rs 3,000 allowance. Similarly, he is tired of repeatedly appealing to the district administration for a house on behalf of the government.
The farmer, who has repeatedly gone to the municipal council office for an increased allowance, says that he is exhausted. Even after reaching the twilight of his life, he is struggling to survive and has become an example for others. If the government immediately included Rs 3,000 allowance and the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, the rest of his life would be spent happily, the farmer said.
