On the occasion of the Business Development and Recognition Ceremony organized by Dhenkanal Dak Mandal at the local partner Art and Craft Centre Auditorium, an accidental death insurance sum of Rs. 10 lakh has been paid to the family of the deceased insured of Dhenkanal district, Shri Jitendra Nayak, under the Aditya Birla Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy available through India Post and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).
Shri Jitendra Nayak lost his life in a road accident while working in the Dhenkanal District Court. He joined this insurance scheme by paying an annual premium of just Rs. 549 through IPPB. As per the policy, the sum insured of Rs. 10 lakh has been transferred to his nominee, Mrs. Surmani Nayak.
Dhenkanal Postal Division Superintendent Mr. Jameshwar Gadnayak, Assistant Postal Superintendent Mr. Mukund Gothait, IPPB Odisha State Head Mr. Susanta Kumar Behera, IPPB Dhenkanal Senior Manager Mr. Prashant Panda, IPPB Angul Senior Manager Mr. Kuthadi Jnaneshwar, Aditya Birla Health Insurance Odisha Head Mr. Santosh Kumar Behera, and his associate Mr. Sameer Kumar Mishra were present at the ceremony organized on this occasion.
The guests said that this accident insurance scheme, available at a very low premium, provides financial security to the family in times of unexpected calamities. They expressed their opinion that it is a useful and reliable insurance scheme for the common man, as it provides accidental death cover of up to ₹10 lakhs at an annual premium of just ₹549. Apart from accidental death coverage, this insurance scheme also provides assistance of up to ₹1 lakh for inpatient hospitalization after an accident, up to ₹30,000 for OPD treatment, and up to ₹1 lakh as a child education benefit for children’s education.

The age limit for joining this insurance scheme should be between 18 and 65 years. The Department of Posts and IPPB has urged maximum people to take advantage of this affordable and beneficial insurance scheme.
