Orientation Workshop Organised for PGT Teachers; 120 Educators to Receive Training.

A guidance workshop has been organized for PGT teachers appointed in Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Advanced Higher Secondary Schools under the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education under the Department of Schools and Mass Education. A guidance program has been organized for about 120 PGT teachers at the Shiripursteni Image. In the inaugural session, the Director of the Directorate of Teacher Education and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (TE&SCERT) Mrs. Madhusmita Sahu, Director of Higher Secondary Education Mrs. Niyati Patnaik, Joint Director Mrs. Sasmita Mali, Deputy Director Mrs. C.H. Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Director Shri Jitendra Kumar Nayak were prominently present.

On this occasion, TE&SCERT Director Mrs. Sahu advised the PGT teachers to focus on solving problems. He expressed his opinion that the responsibility of forming good citizens for the society and the country lies with the teachers, so it is the duty of the teachers to give proper guidance to the students. Higher secondary education is a bridge between school education and higher education. Therefore, at this time, there is a need to pay attention to the students. In addition, Mrs. Sahu suggested identifying the gap between students and teachers and bridging it. Similarly, Director of Higher Secondary Education Mrs. Patnaik, in her speech, advised the PGT teachers to always continue the process of acquiring knowledge. She expressed her opinion that it is necessary to receive education in order to teach. She said that what the teachers learn through the guidance workshop helps in making the students efficient.

In addition, Joint Director Mrs. Mali delivered a welcome speech and gave a detailed description of the workshop. Deputy Director Mrs. Vijayalakshmi coordinated the program, while Deputy Director Shri Nayak proposed the vote of thanks. It is worth noting that the PGT teacher training workshop will be organized in two phases. The first phase will be held from June 8 to June 12, while the second phase will be held from June 16 to June 20. In the first phase, 120 PGTs from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Commerce have participated. In this workshop, various aspects of National Education Policy 2020, use of ICT, Odisha Education Rules, use of SAMS and Shiksha Jyoti portals, POSH Act, Scholarship, Administrative Role, Examination and Evaluation Scheme, Career Guidance etc. will be discussed in detail.
