There is no paved road to the village. Due to this, the ambulance could not go. It was stopped on the way. As a result, with the help of ASHA workers, a pregnant woman walked 4 km to the ambulance. From there, she was taken in an ambulance and admitted to the hospital. Such a picture of the pain of childbirth can be seen in Dhanari village of Govindapali panchayat, Khairput block boundary, Malkangiri district. The woman is Liza Pradhani of the village.
According to the information received, the wife of Purna Pradhani of the village, Liza, started labor pains this morning. Purna informed the ASHA worker to take her to the hospital. The ASHA worker reached her house and immediately contacted the ambulance. After receiving the information, an ambulance from the group health center reached the village. But due to the deplorable road condition, she could not go further and stopped near Jabagardh Chack, 4 km away in Koraput district. Meanwhile, unable to find any other way out, Liza, writhing in pain, walked 4 km to the ambulance with the help of Asha workers and relatives. From there, she was taken to the Khairput Group Health Center in an ambulance. After treatment, her health condition is said to be stable.
However, the villagers have been demanding a paved road from the administration many times. However, no result has been achieved. The villagers have said that since the village does not have a paved road, at various times, seriously ill and pregnant women are suffering from unspeakable hardships. The district administration has demanded that the district administration look into this matter immediately and build a paved road to the village.
