The main road of Guranda village under Goimund Panchayat of Muribahal block, Balangir district is submerged in water, severely hampering the movement of villagers. Due to waterlogging at various places on the road, two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles are at risk. There is a problem in the regular movement of school students. As the ambulance cannot enter the village, pregnant women and patients have to take alternative routes. The fear of accidents is increasing due to the waterlogging at night.
The villagers have complained that this road has not been repaired permanently for about 50 years. Although the local sarpanch has been informed many times, only promises have been made, no steps have been taken. The villagers have warned that if the road repair work is not started soon, they will block the highway and put down the protest. Although attempts were made to contact the local sarpanch in this regard, it was not possible.
